School Council Blog update

Our newly elected school council has got off to a flying start this year. Please read on to see what we have been up to!

Experience passports

We have been continuing work on experience passports which were started by our previous school council last year. We have selected and ordered key life experiences that we feel children at our school need to experience during their time at Holy Family. This is going to be shared and voted on with our classmates this term.

Cafod Live Simply

We will be starting work on our Cafod's Live Simply action plan with a focus on conserving water this term, we will be spreading awareness of this over the coming weeks.

As part of our action plan, we would also like to remind people that small, everyday actions to help the environment can make a big difference and therefore our aim is to get families to make eco pledges at the Christmas fair. Be sure to come by and help us in our journey to be stewards of the Earth and make your eco pledge. This will be added to our pledge tree display in January.

Friendship bench

Finally, a big congratulations to Grace in Y6. Grace had a wonderful idea of having a colourful friendship bench in the playground for all to use, for times when you aren't sure of who or what to play with. The idea being that other children would easily be able to see who was sitting on the bench and come to their assistance. This idea was taken to the rest of the school council, voted on, agreed and a proposal was written by Grace to Mrs Montague which has been approved. Well done Grace on your fantastic idea, we have no doubt that this will have a lasting positive impact on school life!
