EYFS - Phonics

EYFS Pupils at Holy Family had great fun in their parent workshop today, reading Pink Phase decodable book "The Best at Chess!"

Pupils focused on the GPCs /ch/ /sh/ /th/ /ng/ and sounded out and blended words such as "chess," "blush", "king," "bishop," and "thinks" as part of the story.

Then, pupils and parents weaved their own chess boards using craft materials, so that they can play a game of chess or draughts together at home! Aren't they fabulous?
