Year 4 have been experimenting with creating sound effects in preparation for their upcoming trip to the theatre! After spending some time warming up their voices, we thought about the different noises we might hear in a variety of locations, such as the seaside or a forest. The problem was, we could only use what was in the hall to create the sounds... If you were in the library, you might have thought a flock of seagulls had got into the school! Once we had discovered a range of sounds, we then split into groups to create the sound effects for a story, which the other groups listened to with their eyes shut. There was thunder rumbling, wind whistling, rain tapping, and shoes scraping, but it was all created by using different objects. As a final surprise, each group created a twist ending to their story to shock the listeners. It was great fun!
