At Holy Family we were set a home project to make a bird feeder using reusable objects such as plastic bottles and lolly sticks. We loved doing this because it meant that we could get creative with our families whilst positively impacting the local environment. Also, it supports the whole school aim of achieving the Eco Green Flag award! It was lots of fun and we are inspired to create more for our own gardens and local community.
When I made my bird feeder, I worked with my family and used a recycled cereal box - Eden.
I cut a plastic bottle in half, decorated it with sequins and put some lolly sticks in there for the birds to land on - Chris.
We will measure the impact of our feeders by completing another survey, in line with our RSPB Birdwatch work earlier in the half term.
Thank you to all parents and carers for your hard work - we hope you enjoyed making your bird feeders together. Look out for another 'Eco' home challenge coming soon.
