Year 6 Blog

Love of Reading

Whenever they get the opportunity to, the Year 6s enjoy dropping everything and reading. They love reading in the reading corners and writing book reports to put in the red post box. Even 5 minutes a day of reading for pleasure is enough to energise them for the rest of the day's learning.

Year 6K Problem solving

Before starting a new maths topic, the Year 6K children have an opportunity to grapple with some problems that they might be unfamiliar with. By collaborating with friends and by having a go, many of the children end up teaching themselves the concept. It also allows Mr Kops and Mr Scalla to identify their starting points and address any misconceptions early. The Year 6s really enjoy the problem solving sessions as you can see in the photographs.
