Pip and Pap Parent Workshop

Year 1 had a lovely time today, reading the first of the Green Phase Books - 'The Holiday!'
Pupils recapped the grapheme-phoneme correspondences 'ay', 'ou', 'ie' and 'ea' and read the story to their parents.

They read sentences such as "The jet lifts off into the skies. Cray tells Gran that the jet flies fast!" and "Cray brings some drinks and snacks on a tray. Gramps eats a bag of peanuts and Gran has a cup of tea."

Then, pupils and parents thought about where the aliens might have gone on holiday and what the planets might look like. They created their own planets with plasticine - don't they look fabulous? Finally, they completed an oracy activity, talking about where they would choose to go on holiday and why!

We run Pip and Pap Phonics workshops each week in Year R-2, all are welcome, please ask your child's teacher for more details.
