Marwell Zoo

The children from year 2 enjoyed a fantastic, fun filled day at Marwell zoo last Thursday. After the exciting coach journey, we arrived to start our day as soon as the park opened at 10 o’clock. We were greeted throughout the day by all sorts of wildlife from penguins, giraffes, rhinos and snow leopards to snakes, spiders, birds, and snails.

All of the knowledge the children gained on this trip will be used in the upcoming writing unit where they will be doing a recount of the day. The children knew this before the trip and led to some fantastic questions and statements from them.

Children were also able to share all of their knowledge from the science units we were studying before Easter, including habitats, life, cycles, and food chains.
